Business Support Assistant

Job Introduction

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and people skills to join our Bereavement Services Team as a Business Support Assistant.

We’re located in Crownhill Crematorium and Cemetery Office, and you’ll be the front facing colleague on hand to help with enquires in person, on the phone and via email. You will also manage cremation and burial services for the city council.

You’ll be a quick learner and will ideally have experience in dealing with people who need guidance and support at a sensitive time.

Main Responsibility

  • Cover and support existing office staff with all enquiries and paperwork relating to burial and cremation services.
  • Someone who can learn new skills quickly including database systems.
  • Having good people skills when dealing with bereaved families.
  • Answering phone calls that entails a wide variance of knowledge and detail that will help support bereaved people.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Able to deal with several tasks at once, no day is the same.
  • Enjoys talking to people and trying to put things right, and who can understand legislation to convey the city councils’ requirements.
  • Keen to have a varied working day which will including taking people around the grounds.
  • Flexible to work with all faith groups and understand the specialist service needs.
