Job Introduction
Sitting within the Participation and Engagement team within Children's Services, this role will play a key role in delivering positive and aspirational activities for young people across MK and ensuring that their voice is heard by those making decisions that affect them.
The candidate will work under the strategic leadership of the Team Leader to deliver a programme of activities within the Fullers Slade area of MK. This programme will be co-delivered with partner organisations. We are very proud as a Local Authority to retain Youth Workers within our workforce.
The role will require an enhanced DBS, and we are looking for a qualified youth worker with a proven track record of delivering high-quality community youth provision. Youth workers are paid on JNC Professional Range pay points 18-21.
Main Responsibility
- Develop and deliver a community-based programme of activities for young people in the area of Fullers Slade.
- Lead on the collaborative planning, delivery and evaluation of the work with partner organisations.
- Ensure that work plans are in place that demonstrate the anticipated outcomes, and how the achievement of these outcomes will make a sustainable impact to the lives of young people.
- To raise young people's aspirations and ensure that they contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and decision making of the programmes.
- To supervise youth support workers and volunteers including; induction, performance management and continuous professional development.
- To ensure that all work with young people is recorded appropriately and that outcomes of the project are measured and communicated to Senior Managers and Members.

- A JNC qualified youth worker who holds relevant experience within field.
