We’re seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Safeguarding Adults Team, where your expertise will make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead on complex safeguarding cases, provide professional supervision and guidance to colleagues, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the highest standards of care and protection.

Your ability to balance risk, promote independence, and uphold the principles of the Care Act 2014 will be essential in delivering person-centred outcomes.

We’re looking for a confident practitioner with a strong understanding of adult safeguarding legislation, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Main Responsibility

  • Lead and manage complex safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory duties and best practice.
  • Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and support to social workers and other team members.
  • Undertake risk assessments and develop robust safeguarding plans that promote safety and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with health, police, housing, and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated responses.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and service improvements.
  • Represent the team in multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and legal proceedings where necessary.
  • Support the team manager in service planning, performance monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, reflective practice, and professional development.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified and registered social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adult social care.
  • Skilled in managing complex safeguarding cases and confident in applying the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other relevant legislation.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, and professionals.
  • A reflective practitioner who embraces supervision, feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Experienced in supervising or mentoring others, with a commitment to supporting team development.
  • Organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about promoting dignity, independence, and the rights of adults at risk.

For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
