Job Introduction
A rewarding opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team and provide a high-quality, person-centred service.
You’ll undertake safeguarding enquiries, assessing risk, and working collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies to protect vulnerable adults or children from harm and abuse.
This is a site-based role.

Main Responsibility
- Undertake statutory safeguarding duties in line with the Care Act 2014 / Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries, including Section 42 (adults) or Section 47 (children) investigations.
- Carry out assessments, develop protection plans, and review outcomes in partnership with service users and professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records using the local authority’s case management system.
- Attend and contribute to safeguarding strategy meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings where required.
- Promote the voice and rights of the individual, ensuring their views are central to decision-making.
- Work within a multi-agency framework, liaising with health, police, housing, and voluntary sector partners.
- Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in safeguarding and statutory social work practice.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Human Rights Act.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
