Practice Development Lead

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Development Lead to join our team in Children's Social Care.

In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in enhancing the quality of services we provide, ensuring that our practices are effective, innovative and child first.

As a Practice Development Lead, you’ll work closely with practitioners, managers and stakeholders to develop and implement best practices that improve outcomes for children and families.

You’ll be responsible for leading training initiatives, providing expert advice, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Main Responsibility

  • Deliver support to teams and workers embed the practice model in their approach.
  • Ensure high practice standards across Children's Services.
  • Deliver training workshops to Children's Services.
  • Mentor and assess apprentice and newly qualified social workers.
  • Undertake thematic audits and support practice development.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Social Work qualification.
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • Strong knowledge of signs of safety.
  • Knowledge of what good social work practice looks like.
  • Experience in creating and delivering training.
  • Practice Educator qualification or willingness to undertaking the training.

For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
