Job Introduction
We’re recruiting a Music Hub Whole Class Teacher to join our Children and Families team.
You’ll be part of our Music Service, helping children develop their musical skills through whole class instrumental and curriculum music lessons.
Your work will make a real difference to pupils across our community.

Main Responsibility
- Plan and deliver whole class ensemble or curriculum music lessons with a practical focus, keeping records and carrying out assessment.
- Make lessons inclusive so all pupils can participate and support schools and children with continuation after their whole class tuition.
- Attend continuous professional development and take part in performance management.
- Support school and service performances and concerts.
- Manage your own schedule and communicate with Business Support and the stock controller about planning, administration and instruments.
- Work in line with policies including health and safety, safeguarding, safer recruitment and equality and diversity.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified to degree level or have significant teaching experience, with ongoing continuous professional development to maintain up to date practice.
- An interest and proven skill in Music Technology would be an advantage
- Able to work sensitively with all pupils and follow safeguarding procedures.
- Comfortable working independently, teaching creatively and adapting to varied classroom needs.
- Confident in delivering a structured scheme of work and lesson plans.
- Someone who works in a dedicated, respectful and collaborative way, in line with our values.
- To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without these documents.
- If you’re offered the role, we’ll arrange an Enhanced DBS check as part of our pre-employment process (unless you’re already registered with the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
