Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer

Job Introduction

Milton Keynes Fostering Services is looking for a part-time Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer to undertake all Household Reviews. We are looking for a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic team player to support the improvement of our fostering service.

You will need to have a social work qualification to undertake this role. If you have experience within fostering service and have a good understanding of Fostering Regulations, National Minimum Standards and Care, Placement and Care Planning Regulations then we would like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to chair meetings to ensure Milton Keynes Council Foster Carers are delivering a high quality service to our children in care.

There is a requirement for an enhanced DBS to be completed as part of this role.

Main Responsibility

  • As a Senior Practitioner Social Worker you will be responsible for ensuring all Fostering Household Reviews are carried out in accordance with legislation and regulations. 
  • You will need to have knowledge of fostering legislation and regulations.
  • You will share best practice with the service and ensure service delivery is of a high standard at all times. 
  • You will contribute to the development of the service to ensure standards and practice is maintained that enables foster carers to provide the best care that supports good outcomes for our children in care. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Social Worker.
  • Experience of working within local authority fostering service and knowledge of Fostering National Minimum Standards, Fostering Regulations and Care Planning Regulations. 
  • Ability to chair meetings.
  • Good communication skills with children, young people and their families, professionals at a range of levels.
