Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a team player with excellent problem-solving skills to work as a Business Support Officer within the Regulatory Services Team.

You’ll join a vibrant and friendly team of Business Support and Regulatory Officers, to help administer regulatory and licensable activities across the city.

You will have an opportunity to make a difference by supporting applicants through clear communication, building positive relationships with the people and businesses you deal with.

You’ll be the first point of contact for the public, businesses, and colleagues, providing guidance on many aspects of regulation and licensing such as gambling, alcohol sales, street trading and animal licensing to name a few.

Main Responsibility

  • Provide an effective and customer focused business support service for the Regulatory Services Team, acting as the point of access for customers, for both the public and businesses contacting MKCC.
  • Working alongside fellow Business Support colleagues, Licensing Officers as well as other colleagues within the Regulatory Services section and MKCC as required.
  • Process applications, ensuring that all information is captured accurately and processed in a timely manner so keeping within statutory timescales.
  • Undertake administrative tasks as requested by the wider team and provide support to different areas of the Regulatory Services Unit.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • NVQ level 2 in administration or equivalent substantial experience of working within an administration position.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise tasks, working towards deadlines.
  • Possess good attention to detail.
