Job Introduction
To meet growing demand for our services, we are seeking to recruit a new advisor/clerk to join our friendly team, working part-time, term time only. The main purpose of this role is to ensure school governors and trustees are fully supported at their meetings. This flexible and rewarding position involves working some evenings delivering a clerking service to schools and academies, enabling governors to operate effectively, efficiently and legally. The role is part-time and term time only (39 weeks).

Main Responsibility
- Organise meetings, set agendas and attend meetings.
- Accurately minute meetings and provide clear, concise minutes within agreed timescales.
- Give procedural and statutory advice.
- Undertake pre and post meeting action and maintain records.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Attend training and regular team meetings.
The Ideal Candidate
- Good standard of general education (A level or equivalent preferred).
- Ability to drive and access to a car.
- Ability to work outside normal office hours.
- Effective communication, listening and influencing – written and verbal.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Outstanding organisational and administrative skills.
- Understanding of the current educational landscape.
- Ability to work independently and off site.
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Willingness to develop specialist knowledge and to undertake relevant national qualification
- Self-motivated and resourceful in working to meet timelines.
