Main Responsibility
- Deliver a full range of building surveying and project management duties to plan and deliver repair, maintenance, improvement and construction works across the housing portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with residents, leaseholders, contractors and MKCC teams to respond to maintenance issues, ensuring homes continue to meet all regulatory standards.
- Scope, specify and prioritise maintenance and investment works, ensuring all requirements are clearly defined, costed and delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor contractor performance for quality, cost, timeliness and value for money, raising and resolving issues where needed.
- Carry out inspections, including voids, disrepair and condition inspections—updating systems accurately and flagging concerns promptly.
- Produce accurate and concise technical reports outlining options, costs, specifications and recommendations to support investment decisions.
The Ideal Candidate
- A degree in Building Surveying and membership of a relevant professional body or be working towards membership within an agreed timeframe.
- Strong working knowledge of housing regulations, including fire safety and building regulations, with the ability to apply these in inspections and diagnostic work.
- The ability to organise your workload and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Confidence in managing risk and making informed decisions.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with residents, colleagues and contractors.
- To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without these documents.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
