Job Introduction

Simpson and Kitchener Day Centres offer a service to older people and people living with a diagnosis of Dementia. The service operates within a person-centred approach aimed at enhancing a person’s quality of life. The service works closely with each person in accordance with their needs and preferences, providing opportunities and support with activities in the service and community which promote wellbeing and independence.

Here at Simpson Day Service, we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Support Worker to join our established team. This is a part-time position; you will work 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

Main Responsibility

To work with people under the guidance of a Team Leader. Duties include:

  • Oversee the delivery of meals to the centre, checking food quality and delivery temperatures.
  • Serving of meals and drinks to people ensuring they meet with known dietary needs and preferences.
  • To undertake cleaning duties within the centre to ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • To assist with the ordering of supplies including stock management.
  • To complete all appropriate paperwork accurately, legibly, and timely.
  • Perform all duties in line with Health and Safety requirements.

  • Be approachable, responsive, caring, flexible and patient.
  • Be organised and self-motivated.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Be willing to undertake training and learn new skills.
