Setting and School Inclusion Lead

Job Introduction

A brilliant opportunity for a Setting and School Inclusion Lead to join our Education Outcomes Service.

You’ll challenge and support schools and settings to deliver high-quality education for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

You’ll also help drive improvements in the SEND provision and ensure safeguarding processes are followed.

Main Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of Inclusion Teachers and Practitioners.
  • Driving improvements in SEND provision and outcomes across Milton Keynes.
  • Overseeing the SEND support advice service and promoting child-centred approaches.
  • Ensuring safeguarding processes are followed and supporting home education assessments.
  • Managing budgets for Top Up/EHCP funding effectively.
  • Developing and delivering training for colleagues and parent/carer programmes.
  • Working in partnership to improve the SEND Local Area and ensure high-quality EHCPs

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be an experienced senior leader with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and at least three years’ senior leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEND and proven success in improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations.
  • Budget management experience and excellent ICT skills.
  • Resilience, creativity, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • You’ll be working within a regulated activity and may occasionally work outside normal hours.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without these documents.

If you’re offered the role, we’ll arrange an Enhanced DBS check as part of our pre-employment process (unless you’re already registered with the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
