Job Introduction
We’re recruiting a Senior Officer to work within our newly formed Resettlement Team who focus on supporting guests and hosts under the Homes for Ukraine and Afghan Resettlement Scheme
You’ll be responsible for providing supervision, guidance and development to a team of officers and business support officers. You’ll take the lead on preventing homelessness and build positive relationships and a network you can influence to help Ukrainian and Afghan Refugees.
You’ll thrive under sometimes challenging circumstances and will be great at finding areas of agreement, seeing the positives in different ideas, and advocating a culture for excellent customer service.

Main Responsibility
- We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Resettlement Officer to join our busy and newly formed team. You will work with colleagues in ensuring a first-class customer service is provided to residents approaching our service.
- Line management of staff.
- Carrying out regular one to one meetings and monitoring performance.
- Develop and build strong relationships with colleagues & partner agencies.
- Handling customer complaints.
- Liaison with private sector landlords to promote MKCC’s landlord incentive scheme.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, other departments, and statutory and voluntary agencies to provide an effective service.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, work well under pressure, have attention to detail and have proactive problem-solving skills. Most of all you must be confident with dealing with complex situations.
- Evidence of detailed understanding of legislative frameworks relating to Refugee Resettlement Programmes, additionally comprehensive knowledge of the Welfare Reform Act Part VI and Part VII.
- Knowledge of the law relating to homelessness and awareness of current issues affecting Social Housing and Private housing provision.
- For this role you are required to have a Full UK Driving Licence and provide evidence of your Vehicle Insurance with Business cover and use of a vehicle . If you are successful, you will be required to supply evidence of your Licence prior to starting the role
- Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks a Basic DBS will be actioned for you and BPSS referencing

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
