We’re seeking someone with extensive senior procurement experience to join the People Services Procurement Team for one of the UK’s fastest growing and most dynamic cities.
The People Services Procurement Team works to ensure social care providers deliver high quality services that are cost effective and meet demand. You’ll provide organisational leadership in all areas of the procurement cycle.

Main Responsibility
- As Senior Procurement Category Manager you’ll be responsible for a large portfolio across Adults and Children Social Care services, Housing and Public Health Services, managing tenders from £100,000 to £50 million.
- You will lead on complex procurements, making sure they are conducted in line with City Council service priorities and regulatory requirements - delivering Social Value and value for money which provides ‘More for MK’.
The Ideal Candidate
- The successful candidate will be MCIPS qualified and have extensive specialist Procurement Regulations knowledge and experience in public sector/local government procurement processes, preferably in People’s Services.
- You’ll be able to think and work strategically within a People structure, work at pace and have excellent communication and negotiations skills.
