We’re seeking two Residential Children’s Workers to join our caring and committed team at Furze House, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with physical and/or learning disabilities in a safe, nurturing home environment.
Furze House is a short breaks service which is Ofsted Rated 'Good' with 'Outstanding' in Leadership and Management. Our focus is giving children different opportunities and experiences whilst having fun with their peers.
We have two part time positions available; one for 22 hours each week and the other for 34 hours each week - please confirm in your supporting statement which role you wish to be considered for.
This is a site-based role

Main Responsibility
- Provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to children and young people.
- Support children with personal care, communication and daily routines.
- Promote independence, choice and inclusion in all aspects of their lives.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are upheld at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with disabilities (desirable but not essential).
- Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
- A caring, patient and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.
- Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
