Relief residential support worker

Job Introduction

A rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people in a creative, fun and child-centred way at Westminster House, our residential home for children and young people with disabilities in West Bletchley.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team, ensuring continuity and consistency for the children, young people and their families. You’ll support and encourage individuals to develop independence and life experiences.

This is a site-based role.

Interviews for this role will be held on 28 February.

Main Responsibility

  • You will be part of a team, who care for and work with children and young people who have specific individual needs in relation to verbal and non-verbal communication, management of challenging behaviour, continence, personal and intimate care and medical needs.
  • Support and encourage individuals to develop independence and life experiences.
  • You will work as an interchangeable member of a close-knit team ensuring continuity and consistency of care for the children, young people and their families.
  • Some roles will be required to take part in multi-agency meetings.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold a Level 3 working with children and young people.
  • Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
