Paralegal

Job Introduction

We’re seeking a proactive Paralegal to join our Social Care Legal team.

You’ll support the lawyers within the team on a range of matters including but not limited to care proceedings, pre-proceedings, court of protection proceedings, education matters and inquests.

You’ll also contribute to the effective running of a pressurised and busy team.

This is a site-based role.

Interviews for this role will be held W/C 14 July.

Main Responsibility

Your key tasks will consist of:

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents.
  • Liaising with a range of individuals and organisations including the court, health, police, counsel and experts.
  • Undertaking legal research.
  • Ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed to a high standard.

The Ideal Candidate

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and keen individual to join a thriving social care legal team.
  • You must be able to use your own initiative, be proactive and have excellent organisation skills in order to fulfil the role of providing a dedicated support to a range of lawyers dealing with all matters relating to safeguarding children and adults. 
  • You will possess excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude and be able to manage competing tasks in a demanding area.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
