Job Introduction
The Licensing team administers and enforces Licensing of pubs, clubs, street traders and large events across the City. The Licensing Team is based in Civic, in Central Milton Keynes. Some of the team are remote, others are office based. The department is in the midst of increasing efficiencies and moving many processes online to make application processes easier to complete. We have recently been inspecting licensed premises across the city to promote preventing violence against women and girls and will be attending National Bowl events to monitor the safe operation of the concerts. The City Council needs to work in a more efficient manner, you will provide excellent administration and enforcement support to the team and assist moving towards greater online efficiency The role does not require specialist licensing experience, but it is important the individual can effectively use the Licensing Teams database and is an expert administrator

Main Responsibility
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
To be willing and able to work out of hours on some evenings and weekend and to be able to assess risk to personal safety.
Able to communicate effectively using verbal, written and other mediums.
Evidence of extensive use of IT programmes including MS Office, Excel, databases and data management.
The Ideal Candidate
A great opportunity for someone with excellent IT skills to join us as a Licensing Technical Officer.
You’ll be an experienced, competent and effective administrator with comprehensive experience of APP (or similar database), along with Microsoft packages, Word and Excel.
You’ll be willing to learn the basics of Licensing legislation to enable you to assist Licensing Officers to carry out their duties.
You’ll have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to analyse data and present reports of your findings with excellent attention to detail.
This is a varied role with an emphasis on administration and application process. Full training will be provided.

For this role, the candidate is required to have a Full UK Driving Licence, along with access to a Vehicle. Evidence of the Driving Licence and Vehicle Insurance with Business Insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
