Housing Solutions Initial Assessment Team Assistant

Main Responsibility

• Act as the first point of contact for new enquiries and gather essential information.
• Provide clear advice on housing solutions and signpost to other services.
• Arrange homelessness assessment appointments and assist residents in accessing support.
• Respond to enquiries via phone, email and duty-to-refer notifications.
• Collect and manage documents securely for colleagues.
• Attend meetings and events to promote the service and assist with administration.

The Ideal Candidate

• Communicate clearly and effectively with different audiences.
• Have excellent customer service skills and work well in a team.
• Be empathetic and non-judgmental towards people in stressful housing situations.
• Understand homelessness legislation and housing solutions.
• Be accurate and confidential when handling personal information.
• Ideally have experience in housing or a similar field.

If you are offered the role, we will carry out a Basic DBS check and BPSS referencing as part of the pre-employment process.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
