Job Introduction

The council has a network of 17 children and family centres to support children and families across Milton Keynes. Ensuring that children and families get the right help at the right time is really important to us along with ensuring that every child reaches their full potential.

We are looking for someone who can ensure that the family centre provides a range of high quality integrated services that improve outcomes for children and families and, in particular, reduce inequalities for those in greatest need of support.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.

Main Responsibility

The role involves:

  • Being responsible for the overall management and smooth running of the family centre and prepare an exciting calendar of activities for all ages.
  • Working closely with other agencies to ensure the family centre provides an integrated offer.
  • Prioritising safeguarding and family support as part of Early Help
  • Leading and motivating the family centre team to support those most in need and provide a high quality service
  • Creating opportunities for Volunteers

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of leading a team
  • Has extensive safeguarding knowledge and experience
  • Has experience of working in the community
  • Is passionate about producing real outcomes for children and their families
  • Has a good working knowledge of the EYFS
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Is able to work flexibly
