Job Introduction
The SEND Team at Milton Keynes Council wish to appoint an innovative Senior Teacher who can support the EHC Review Team to work with children, young people, families and settings both within Milton Keynes and out of Local Authority. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and inclusive team who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for the children and young people of Milton Keynes and will form part of the management team within the service.

Main Responsibility
- The candidate will hold responsibility for maintaining and reviewing Education Health and Care Plans of children who are in Independent Day and Residential placements as well as supporting transitions for children at key points of their education.
- They will be responsible for liaising with educational settings for children and young people who require independent specialist placements and will work closely with the families and wider professionals ensuring the most appropriate placement is identified.
- They will sit as part of the SEND Management Team and will support in driving forward the SEND Strategy.
- They will hold their own case load and will also work with the EHC Specialist Teaching Team delivering sessions to children with complex special educational needs.
The Ideal Candidate
- The idea candidate must have leadership experience within a educational setting and have up to date experience of working with and supporting children with SEND.
- They must have at least 5 years teaching experience and have a robust understanding of SEND processes. Full details of essential criteria are included on the job role specification.
- A full driving license and access to a car is essential as you will be requested to travel to settings outside of Milton Keynes.
