Job Introduction
The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is the front door to Children’s Social Care. It’s made up of seven Customer Liaison Officers, social workers, the police, health and CAMHS.
As a Customer Liaison Officer, you’ll respond to all calls, providing advice where appropriate and recording contact from professionals and members of the public. You’ll also arrange meetings and assessments with families and respond to requests for information from partner agencies.
You’ll ideally have a good understanding of Microsoft, good literacy skills and will be confident on the phone.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, based at The Civic in the city centre.
Interviews will take place on 21 or 22 November.
Main Responsibility
- Answer calls into Children’s Social Care in a timely manner, providing advice where appropriate.
- Support social workers in arranging assessments and strategy meetings.
- Provide information to partner agencies.
- Complete referrals following on from telephone calls and face to face visits into the MASH.
The Ideal Candidate
- Have a basic knowledge of services available in Milton Keynes who offer support to children and families.
- Experience of managing difficult conversations.
- Good IT and written skills.
Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
