Job Introduction

The Council is the biggest landlord in Milton Keynes. We have thousands of houses as well as flats. Our Caretakers do a really important job taking care of the shared areas in blocks and our larger buildings to make sure they are clean and safe for our residents.

We now need another person to join our caretaking team to work in the Estate Services area.

Main Responsibility

  • Complete safety checks using a smart device, which we will train you to use
  • Assist with ad-hoc manual handling tasks including carrying large / bulky items
  • Spotting and reporting problems, like faulty lights
  • Being helpful to residents, listening to their feedback on repairs and safety
  • Helping out with any other tasks, like garage audits and posting notices

The Ideal Candidate

  • Someone who knows about, or can quickly learn how to conduct safety checks.
  • Someone who enjoys talking to people and trying to put things right.
  • Someone who can use a smart phone to take photos and report things. 
  • Someone who can get about with a driving license.
  • Someone who is flexible – you might be asked to work in another place.
