Asset Manager (Disposals)

Job Introduction

A good opportunity for an Asset Manager to join our dynamic Property Team. 

We’re making good progress with our £40 million programme of property disposals and are seeking a qualified property professional as we continue. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a diverse property portfolio.

This role fixed term for 12 months

This is a site-based role

Main Responsibility

  • Lead and manage a programme of disposals of surplus properties within the General Fund and Housing Revenue Account which is worth in excess of £40M.
  • Develop and implement asset disposals strategies to optimise return and minimise losses, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Prepare a timetable of asset disposals, taking into account property risk management, cashflow forecasts, disposal methods, and all due diligence to achieve best consideration for MKCC.
  • Resolve complex problems preventing disposals such as title and access issues, which may include liaising and negotiating with third party landowners, tenants, and other public and private bodies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good understanding of the Town and Country Planning Act in so far as it relates to development potential of land and assets.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal regulations governing asset disposals and sound working knowledge of asset valuation methods and market.
  • Able to solve problems in relation to property disposals through innovative and creative thinking.
  • Proven excellent organisation skills, with attention to detail, able to prioritise and effectively meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines.

For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
