Tracking Officer (Maternity Cover)

Job Introduction

Are you interested in young people and their progression from full-time education?  Do you enjoy working with data and information?  We are looking for someone to join our team to help us support young people who are not in education, employment or training.  Working closely with colleagues, partners and other Local Authorities you will be accessing information to help us target those young people who need our help the most.

You will be working alongside a friendly team of Careers Professionals who are passionate about helping young people to raise their aspirations and be successful. This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave until March 2023. 

Full training will be given. 22 hours per week.  This role can be either home-based, with attendance at the MKC Civic office when required or site based at the Civic offices.

Main Responsibility

  • Be responsible for establishing and recording the destination of young people in education, employment and training
  • Maintain the data of young people on the internal and national database information systems
  • Help colleagues by providing information from the database to allow them to track young people
  • Work closely with management to report the numbers of young people not in education, employment and training in Milton Keynes
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external partners across Milton Keynes to ensure information is accurate and current

We are looking for someone who can meet and demonstrate the councils core workplace values of being dedicated, respectful and collaborative. The ideal candidate will –

  • Have good communication skills both oral and written
  • Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Be thorough and accurate when completing a task
  • Have an interest in analysing and investigating information
  • Have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience of working with databases
  • Have a passion for supporting young people to achieve their best
  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check (Adults and Children).
