Team Manager (Children in Care)

Job Introduction

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and ambitious manager, who is passionate about children in care. You will be responsible for ensuring our children are offered high quality service that provides them with the opportunity to reach their full potential, with key priorities of focusing on permanence, placement stability, health and well-being and academic achievement. Come help shape the lives of our children in care as our new Team manager.

Main Responsibility

  • Ensure all children in care are safe and their well-being is promoted through effective planning. 
  • Effectively manage risk through robust mechanism in line with policy and procedures and drawing upon research. 
  • To effectively manage the performance of the team, to ensure delivery of high quality work using performance data and regular reflective supervision. 
  • To work collaboratively with partner agencies, putting the child at the centre of decision making.
  • To be responsible and make appropriate decisions exercising initiative that are within the Team budget. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • You will be a registered Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience within a local authority setting.
  • Advanced or specialist knowledge about the issues facing children in care and care leavers.
  • You will be highly motivated and the ability to analyse complex information to write/record relevant information clear and concisely.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • An ability to analyse and understand data to ensure effective running of the Team.
  • An ability to lead and motivate others with creative thinking.
