Social Work Assistant (ASC)

Job Introduction

Our professional, friendly and vibrant Safeguarding Adults Team works hard to support the safety and wellbeing of people in Milton Keynes.

We’re currently expanding the team and looking for a flexible and proactive team player to join our social workers and specialist business support colleagues.

You’ll liaise with other professionals and the public to help keep adults in the community safe and to hear their voice. It’s a rewarding role for someone with good attention to detail who can keep a calm head in a busy environment.

Main Responsibility

Ability to use and understand IT systems and software effectively to accurately record and communicate.

For this role you are required to have a Full UK Driving Licence and provide evidence of your Vehicle Insurance with Business Use. If you are successful, you will be required to supply evidence of your Licence prior to starting the role

Someone who is a team player.

Someone that can work in a high pressure environment ​and prioritise work accordingly.

Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, particularly S.42

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge of adult safeguarding and social care.

Ability to make decisions regarding safeguarding concerns.

Good communication skills (written, verbal and read) .

Ability to prioritise tasks.

Flexible and proactive team player.

Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
