Senior Practitioner - Children with Disabilities

Job Introduction

Do you remember what made you become a Children’s Social Worker? It was probably because, like us, you’re dedicated to helping children who are in the most need to live in safety and without fear.

We’re looking for a dedicated professional to join us in our Children with Disabilities team who support children and young people up to the age of 18 with a diagnosed disability.

The team consists of two team managers, senior practitioners, social workers and social work assistants who specialise in work with children with disabilities.

As a Senior Practitioner, you’ll work closely with team managers and colleagues to provide the leadership, management, support and training necessary to help social workers and social work assistants fulfil their role. Social workers in the team undertake statutory social work duties of Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need processes, Child Protection, Looked After Children and court work.

We’re offering a long-term, rewarding career where you’ll be supported to develop to your full potential and have opportunities for growth and career progression at all levels. You’ll be able to work autonomously, with a varied case load, and clinical supervision is available to support you at all times.

We offer a £4,000 Retention Payment (pro rata) for most social work roles.

In our most recent colleague survey, 90% of people said they are proud to work for us. We encourage and warmly welcome applications from social workers in all disciplines such as Adult Social Care and Mental Health Services. So, if you feel ready to take that next career-defining step, then it’s time to register your interest today.
