Relief Early Years Practitioner Level 3

Job Introduction

We're seeking vibrant and enthusiastic people to join our pool of relief workers to support us in providing outstanding support and services to families in Milton Keynes. Your role will involve direct work with children and families.

As a relief worker, you'll work as part of a team offering sessions and support to families across 10 Family Centres.

If you are successful, an Enhanced DBS will be actioned as part of the pre-employment checks (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

This is a site-based role

Main Responsibility

  • Support the Family Centre team to provide a welcoming and stimulating learning environment to enable children to learn through play and grow in confidence.
  • Support the Family Centre team to deliver a range of activities to support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), providing positive child centred learning opportunities.
  • Support the Family Centre team to plan and deliver a range of sessions to meet the needs of the whole family.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of safety and security are maintained at all times to safeguard the welfare of the children in line with the statutory welfare requirement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold an Early Education or Childcare related qualification, with some practical experience of working with children and families.
  • Have high aspirations for all children and families.
  • Be open and friendly and enjoy talking to people.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
