Job Introduction

We are looking for an intuitive, compassionate, and responsive Registered Manager to work with and lead our friendly and professional team at Short Breaks & Shared Lives. Our service is rated “Outstanding” by Care Quality Commission (CQC), and we work hard in providing excellent support to meet the needs and expectations of the people we support.

As a Registered Manager you will be an excellent problem solver with the ability to inspire actions and manage a team to deliver person centred outcomes. You will also have a good understanding of the requirements of CQC and other relevant legislation.

You may not have been a Registered Manager before, but you may have the potential to be one, so we offer training and coaching in addition to a wealth of in-team experience to help you gain the specific skills you’ll need.

Main Responsibility

  • As the Registered Manager you will be responsible in meeting and endeavouring to excel in the required standards required by CQC and other relevant legislation.
  • To manage and develop a staff team, inspiring high performance by ensuring that team members have the required skills and knowledge to deliver a high-quality service.
  • To ensure the service can meet the diverse needs of the service users.
  • To ensure operational cover, consistency of quality and the continuity of care in both service areas.
  • To ensure that Health & Safety standards are met across the service.
  • To monitor quality assurance by key inspections, audits, service user surveys and data collection.
  • To represent and advise on service issues in line with council initiatives.
  • To continuously identify areas of change and development that will improve the outcomes and lives for service users.

The Ideal Candidate

  • NVQ Level 5 in Management or willingness to work towards completing this.
  • Experience in social care or health settings.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organising the distribution of work; monitor progress and quality against national standards; devise and implement action plans for service development.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team to ensure quality and consistency across the services.
  • Continuously identify ways in which services can be delivered more efficiently.
  • Building and developing relationships and networks with people in the service and other organisations.
  • Effective communication with internal and external colleagues.
  • Good time management and prioritising skills.
  • Experience of using IT systems.
