Registered Manager - Supported Housing

Job Introduction

Milton Keynes City Council operates three supported housing schemes providing 24-hour, CQC-registered domiciliary care to older tenants with dementia, complex health needs, and frailty.

As part of a service transformation, we're introducing a new role that brings these three services under one experienced Registered Manager. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape a consolidated service, ensuring consistency in operational approaches and the effective delegation of resources to deliver positive outcomes for our tenants.

We're seeking an experienced and collaborative leader who can develop, motivate and inspire teams, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and promoting independence and wellbeing for those in our care.

Main Responsibility

As Registered Manager, you will:

  • Take overall responsibility for three CQC-registered supported housing services for older adults with dementia, frailty, and complex health needs.
  • Ensure services operate within statutory requirements and comply with CQC       regulations, safeguarding protocols, and the Care Act 2014.
  • Lead and manage dispersed teams across multiple sites, ensuring staff are     supervised, trained, and appraised to the highest standards.
  • Oversee resource management, budgets, and income streams, providing accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Develop and implement service development plans and local action plans, driving   continuous improvement through audits and reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, tenants, families,   and advocates to ensure person-centred care and best outcomes.
  • Promote tenancy sustainability and independence through effective service delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds (or is working towards) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care.
  • Has demonstrable experience managing CQC-registered health and social care services, ideally across multiple sites.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
  • Is an exceptional leader with proven ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
  • Has strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Is flexible and committed to working across services, including occasional unsociable hours as required.
  • Can build effective partnerships and maintain high standards of care and wellbeing for tenants.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without these documents.

If you’re offered the role, we’ll arrange an Enhanced DBS check as part of our pre-employment process (unless you’re already registered with the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
