Job Introduction
We are looking to recruit a Project Management Lead to join our Portfolio Office. The role holder will be a subject matter expert in project management and assist in delivering improved project and programme management across Milton Keynes Council. You will be responsible for developing approaches, tools and techniques to support the MKApproach, the Council’s guide to project management. You will also provide a project assurance role by challenging processes and giving advice.
This is a full-time position, however part-time applications may be considered
Main Responsibility

Driving the development of the organisations project and programme improvement plan

Providing assurance on a wide range of projects through health checks and project reviews and developing appropriate actions plans

Maintaining an effective project management training programme and have the skills to deliver 1 to 1 training and briefings

Delivering discrete corporate projects on behalf of the team

Championing project management best practice
The Ideal Candidate
-
Advanced knowledge and practical experience of project management gained through 2 years of experience with a relevant degree OR 5 years experience with a project management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 (practitioner level) or equivalent.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively at all levels of the organisation and with corporate specialists
