Procurement Support Officer

Job Introduction

We’re seeking a Procurement Support Officer to make sure city council services such as Adult and Children’s Social Care, Housing and Public Health are being well supported when they buy services from providers.

You’ll join our friendly and professional Procurement team who help colleagues make better buying arrangements. You’ll also work on strategic projects for the whole city council.

Main Responsibility

  • Assist with gathering and providing contract data, including reports, market intelligence and analysis of spend.
  • Assist with the preparation of all documentation in relation to tendering.
  • Be the primary contact for managing the city council Contract Register.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills coupled with practical knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Excel and SharePoint.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a procurement and purchasing environment or be studying for a Purchasing and Supply qualification (Level 3/4) and/or be familiar with e-procurement systems. Additional training on systems such as the e-portal can be provided.
  • Enjoys working with data and delivering best value to taxpayers.
