Job Introduction
We’re looking for a self-motivated and commercially focused Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team.
You’ll provide strategic and operational support across our people services which includes Adult and Children’s Social Care, Housing and Public Health.
The successful candidate will be willing to challenge existing processes to ensure best practice and value for money.

Main Responsibility
- As part of the People Services Procurement Team, you will take an active lead on decisions being made across the city council while supporting directors and partners to deliver long term projects that constitute a large percentage of MKCC’s annual budget.
- You will be accountable for a portfolio of procurement projects from £25,000 to FTS Threshold and above and take responsibility for procurement projects end-to-end, ensuring best practice to maximise opportunities for efficiencies and service improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
- The successful candidate will ideally be CIPS qualified or working towards it, and have substantial experience in relation to contracting, procurement and commissioning.
- Ability to work at pace and have excellent communication and negotiations skills.
