Job Introduction
Milton Keynes City Council Legal Services is a fast-paced, dynamic and innovative in-house Legal Service which advises a wide-range of the Council’s departments. From contracts and procurement to child protection, from major development projects to criminal prosecution, the team aim to provide clear, high-quality and pragmatic advice to professional clients.
This post is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting and innovative legal team as a Children’s Social Care Paralegal and to potentially progress your legal career. The ideal candidate will have a law degree and/or equivalent experience working as a Paralegal.
Main Responsibility
- Working within the Children’s Social Care Legal department.
- Assisting the Principal in the preparation and progression of court proceedings relating to care proceedings, fostering and adoption.
- Assisting the Principal in the preparation of electronic court bundles and evidence.
- Liaison with the Children’s Social Care department.
- Liaison with the local family court.
The Ideal Candidate
- Law Degree and/or equivalent experience working as a Paralegal.
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines with a high volume of paperwork.
- Resilient in the face of the nature of the work.
- Good communicator able to deal with stakeholders of all kinds.
