Job Introduction
We’re recruiting someone with excellent communication skills and good attention to detail to join our Licensing Team within Regulatory Services.
The team offers businesses and residents the ability to apply for many different licenses or permits so that their business can operate legally within the city. Milton Keynes is a rapidly expanding city which means the requirement for different licences is growing.
We cover regulation and licenses in a wide range of areas from event safety to scrap metal to the sale of alcohol and much more besides. We also undertake compliance work, sometimes in partnership with agencies, and we give advice to businesses and residents on legal requirements.
Main Responsibility
- Support Licensing Officers investigating licensing cases.
- Undertake administrative procedures for all areas of licensing work.
- Carry out inspections, visits and investigations as directed by licensing officers.
- Ability to use a wide range of IT programmes and to interrogate databases.
- Work with external partners on licensing matters.
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent communication skills through all mediums.
- An experienced user of a variety of IT programmes with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends if required.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- Someone who enjoys a varied role with some site work and some office work.
- For this role you are required to have a full UK driving licence and provide evidence of your vehicle insurance with business cover and use of a vehicle. If you are successful, you will be required to supply evidence of your licence prior to starting the role.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
