Job Introduction
We’re looking for a professional, friendly, and welcoming person to join our established laundry team as a driver where you’ll collect and deliver laundry to our customers.
The Laundry Service is located at Tower Drive Day Centre and supports vulnerable people across Milton Keynes who require our specialist laundry service, including delivering and collecting items from people’s homes.
This role is an opportunity to make a real difference to the people we support by working efficiently, using initiative and being kind to our customers. You’ll need to communicate well and build positive relationships with the people you meet.
In addition, you’ll be an experienced driver with knowledge of getting around Milton Keynes and looking after a vehicle.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Main Responsibility
- Collect and deliver service users’ laundry.
- Maintain high standards of record keeping regarding the vehicle.
- To be aware and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain and develop excellent customer relations.
- Be a positive representative of Milton Keynes City Council.
- Liaise with outside contractors for necessary maintenance of the vehicle.
Within reason these key deliverables may evolve to meet service need and it is expected that you will be flexible and adaptable in your delivery to meet both service and city council wide needs.
The Ideal Candidate
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Dedicated to the role, to ensure service users’ needs are met and their experiences are positive.
- Willing to engage in necessary training and guidance relating to the duties of the role and health and safety requirements.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Good attention to detail
