Housing Repairs & Maintenance Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Housing Maintenance and Repairs Manager to join our Housing Maintenance & Investment Team to help look after our 11000+ homes across Milton Keynes. You will lead the team who look after our voids, responsive repairs, queries and disrepair work. This will be working with our maintenance contractor and other MKCC teams to ensure our homes are safe and maintained to our standards and specifications.  

You will have worked on housing stock before and enjoy leading your team so that they are taking decisions at pace which deliver the most appropriate outcome for residents and wider asset management. 

Main Responsibility

Ensure that we deliver a responsive repair service that keeps our housing stock safe, to standard and within a managed budget.

Leading your team to work proactively and positively, so they priorities are set and work is delivered at pace

Using the data to drive work - be it audits of work done, identifying themes or issues as well as tracking performance of your team

The Ideal Candidate

You will have significant experience in leading people with clear priorities, processes and standards so you know how well your team is doing and what support or changes are needed

You will hold formal qualifications in housing management and compliance, along with significant working knowledge of building regulations, decent homes standards and the changing social housing regulatory landscape

You will enjoy identifying where things need to be changed, and getting those changes done at pace in a proactive and positive way
