Hospitality Assistant

We’re recruiting a Hospitality Assistant to assist in the smooth running of our Catering and Housekeeping services in our main Civic offices.

This is a fast paced environment and the role can be physically demanding at times. You'll need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and be flexible in your approach.

This is a front of house role and catering experience will be required.

This role has a specific working pattern:

Monday  - Off

Tuesday – 10am to 2pm – 4 hours

Wednesday – 10am to 2pm – 4 hours

Thursday - Off

Friday 10am to 2pm – 4 hours

This role is for 12 hours per week and the salary will be £8,428 - fixed term for 12 weeks 

This is a site-based role

Interviews will be held on 23 and 24 October

Main Responsibility

  • Co-ordinate and deliver the full range of services within Corporate Catering & Hospitality, including vending services to all the Council’s buildings, as applicable, though mainly Civic Offices. 
  • Ensure a high standard of Food Hygiene is maintained and all Food Safety and Food Hygiene regulations are adhered to in accordance with the guidelines to ensure compliance. 
  • Ensure the cleanliness and attractiveness of all catering areas, kitchens and equipment at all times.
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving and correct storage of catering goods ensuring effective stock rotation along with excellent presentation of goods and services.

The Ideal Candidate

  • To retain a minimum level 2 food hygiene certification. (Obtain within 1 week of appointment - MKCC provided).
  • Physically capable as the role requires a significant amount of walking, lifting, carrying. 
  • Someone who is positive and enthusiastic to deliver the service and communicate to the service users.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
