Focused Deterrent Performance and Integration Co-ordinator

Job Introduction

This role is located in the Contextual Safeguarding team that act as a consultancy and case holding service around Contextual Safeguarding concerns for young people in Milton Keynes.

The team sits under the wider Youth Offending Service and works closely with Children and Adult Social Care, the Youth Offending Service, the police and other agencies who work with young people and young adults who are at risk of offending behaviour in relation to knife crime, knife carrying and serious youth violence; and are at risk of exploiting or being exploited.

The team is expanding, and this is an exciting new opportunity for the candidates to work with professionals and agencies to support young people and families that need specialised, additional support.

The Performance and Integration Co-ordinator will work within the Contextual Safeguarding Team to maintain and assess data from local partnerships and Thames Valley Police and will be responsible for real time monitoring of information and intelligence through and from all relevant agencies and ensure this is entered into the relevant databases. This will allow partner agencies to understand patterns and daily hot spots for children and young people at risk of violence, exploitation and knife crime and support the mapping of contexts of places and people of concern that will support the Focused Deterrent Model. 

The candidate will require a DBS check and hold a current drivers licence. 

Main Responsibility

  • Providing regular reports.
  • Work with the violence reduction unit, local police analysts, other co-ordinators, internal data systems and external police agencies to manage partnership data.
  • Updating relevant databases and ensure correct information is appropriately shared.
  • Working directly with young people, families and adults to support and oversee the focused deterrence plans.
  • Work in and around multiple different databases for different agencies and help connect and map information for partner agencies.​

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and the risks experienced by children and young people who are vulnerable to extra familial harm and is able to understand the importance of how data and evidence- based research can support the reduction in these risks.
  • Extensive experience and skill in using various data systems.
  • Some who enjoys collecting, collating, evaluating and interpreting complex information, and enjoys developing processes and plans to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Extensive experience as an analyst or researcher.
  • Experience of working with partners including police and the voluntary and community sector, and of working in a multi-agency setting, sharing information appropriately and sensitively within the organisation.
  • Someone who wants to make a difference and support the reduction of offending behaviour in children and young people.
