Job Introduction

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to manage a hardworking and dedicated team of tutors within Adult Learning?

We are a friendly and enthusiastic Adult Learning team, providing education courses for the people of Milton Keynes. We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced teacher, preferably with management experience, to lead a team of tutors and learning support assistants.

You will be working with our younger learners (16-19), those with additional support needs and learners aged 19+ who are seeking employment in a teaching and management capacity. Creating a dynamic and purposeful curriculum will be at the heart of all you do. In return, you will become part of a very supportive and friendly team and have the opportunity to grow and shape this job role. You will need to be flexible as you will be working in different locations across Milton Keynes, with some evening and weekend work.

Main Responsibility

  • You will use your excellent organisational skills in planning and delivering the employability curriculum for adults and young people, many facing real barriers to learning or returning to education after some considerable time.
  • You will bring your creativity and experience to shape teaching and learning across this curriculum area as well as within the wider management team.
  • You will ensure the full range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies are being used and guide your team accordingly. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent with significant FE/Adult teaching experience in own specialist subject which demonstrates the ability to work at this level.
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification at level 4 or above. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of OFSTED requirements and reflects on own practice to improve delivery and outcomes for learners.
  • Knowledge of the range of qualifications and learning programmes including e-learning and Google Classroom.
  • High level ability to plan and prioritise work with competing demands and deadlines, demonstrated by evidence of effective personal and managed working/team plans.
  • Able to support and motivate tutors and provide and encourage clear and constructive communication.
