Client Funds Officer

Job Introduction

We’re recruiting a Client Funds Officer to join our Finance Transactions service. 

You’ll help us manage the day‑to‑day financial affairs of people who need support, making sure their money is handled safely, fairly and in line with national guidance. 

You’ll work closely with colleagues in our Client Funds Team as well as partners, families and internal services. 

This role may be suitable for home working, following an assessment. Home-based roles require a minimum of one day in the office/site per week.

Interviews for this role will be held on 26 February.

Main Responsibility

  • Manage the financial affairs of service users in line with legislation and our operational policies. 
  • Hold your own caseload, including making payments, supporting benefit claims and maintaining accurate records.
  • Visit service users and attend meetings to carry out annual reviews, gather information and resolve issues sensitively.
  • Ensure properties are safe and secure, arranging maintenance or clearance when required.
  • Provide advice to colleagues and external organisations about processes and service user needs.
  • Prioritise your workload to meet agreed service standards and audit requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to GCSE level, holds NVQ Level Three or has equivalent experience in a similar setting. 
  • Communicates clearly with a wide range of people, showing empathy and building positive relationships.
  • Can understand and follow national legislation and guidance, acting in the best interests of service users.
  • Has strong organisational skills and can plan and prioritise your own work.
  • Uses systems confidently, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • We’re looking for people who live by our workplace values: dedicated, respectful and collaborative.
  • Holds a driving licence and can travel locally for visits to be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. If you’re offered the position, we’ll ask for proof of your licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to confirm your appointment without these documents.
  • If you are offered the role, we will carry out a Basic DBS check and BPSS referencing as part of the pre-employment process.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
