Childrens Quality and Compliance Officer

Job Introduction

Our Quality and Compliance Team, part of the ASC Commissioning Team, manages the quality and compliance of all the city council’s social care providers across both adults and children’s services. We assess and support providers to ensure they are providing the right quality of services and are compliant with regulatory frameworks and guidance.

We’re recruiting to 2 Fixed Term (to end March 2025) Childrens Quality and Compliance Officer posts to join the team in this work.

Candidates will need to have an enhanced DBS in place.

Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of Children’s Social Care and relevant legislation and experience of working in a similar field or children’s role.

Main Responsibility

Undertake quality assurance reviews of children’s services commissioned by MKCC/MKCCG to make sure best value for money is delivered and to ensure the strategic local population needs are met.

Monitor and analyse the quality and performance of children’s service providers to identify non-compliance with contractual obligations. Recommending and managing corrective action and service improvements.

Develop and manage consultation arrangements with service users, family carers, children’s service providers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure individual and population level outcomes are met.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and directives, to identify areas of good practice to develop within providers / contracts.

Actively promote the city council’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults at a level proportionate to your role.

The Ideal Candidate

 An experienced practitioner from a social care background.

The ability to engage with social care providers, visit, and undertake quality assessments, working with the providers to develop action plans to improve their systems, procedures, and policies.

Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and a calm approach to resolving issues.

A positive mentality, and a commitment to making a difference for people.

A team worker who supports the team and works collaboratively with colleagues, providers, and partner agencies.

Someone who takes pride in their work and is adaptive and flexible in their approach.

For this role you are required to have an Enhanced DBS and a full UK driving licence and provide evidence of your vehicle insurance with business cover and use of a vehicle. If you are successful, you will be required to supply evidence of your licence prior to starting the role.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
