Children and Family Practice Worker -L2

Job Introduction

The Children and Families Practices Central Team is recruiting a full time practitioner.  You will work with families presenting medium levels of need / risk and deliver a package of support and interventions to create effective outcomes. You will enjoy working with a diverse caseload and have the opportunity to address the generic needs of the family.  The interview date for this role will be on the 1st of April 2022.

Main Responsibility

  • Manage a case load of medium need / risk families where there are safe guarding concerns at either level 2 or level 3 on the Milton Keynes Levels of Need (Effective Support Windscreen)
  • Carry out in-depth assessments with families, young people and children, capturing their wishes and feelings.
  • Alongside working directly with families, children and young people, they will be expected to work with other agencies to assist families in developing detailed support plans to effect change, whilst ensuring their safety, wellbeing and development. 
  • Ensure case notes are up to date and are written in accordance to approved standards
  • Engage in regular case discussions, including safe guarding reviews with management; group reflective practice and monthly case supervision
  • Engage in mandatory and induction training as well as regular training and development opportunities which will be available to enable you to fulfil your role.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good skills and knowledge in listening to children and adults, in observation and in carrying out assessments of strengths and weaknesses within families, including the assessment and management of risk.
  • Able to develop, implement and monitor robust support plans in medium risk / need cases    
  • Ability to work within a multi agency context by working co-operatively with other professionals and agencies to meet the needs of children and families.
