Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

We’re recruiting a full-time Practitioner to join our established Children and Families Practice Team, covering Milton Keynes South. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting children and their families who have been identified as requiring early help support.

You’ll carry out assessments and build relationships with children to understand their needs and those of their families, and learn what could be done to improve things for them. You’ll also work with parents/carers to help them with the parenting challenges they are facing. Support takes places in the family’s home, school and other community settings.

We work with colleagues and external organisations to develop a ‘Team Around the Family’, delivering a plan of support to empower the family in making positive changes. This is in accordance with the statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2018.

Milton Keynes City Council is a modern and friendly place to work. We offer an excellent benefits package including an enhanced pension, generous holiday allowance starting at 28 days as well as a great range of training and development opportunities to help you in your career.

Interviews will be held on the 18 October

  • Maintain accurate, clear and concise case recordings for all children and young people accessing the service. These will clearly detail the children and young people and their families’ circumstances to give a clear account of their life story.
  • Direct, indirect and clinical supervision is available to assist you to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people and to support you as a person and for career progression.

The Ideal Candidate

  • We welcome someone who has experience of working directly with children, young people and their families including assessment of needs and the planning and delivery of interventions to achieve successful outcomes.
