Job Introduction
We’re recruiting a Business Support Assistant to provide support to our Bereavement Services Team which includes Cremation and Burial Services.
You’ll help with raising invoices, managing paperwork, taking bookings from funeral directors, answering phone calls and emails, and discussing memorials available at the crematorium and surrounding cemeteries with people’s loved ones.
This includes showing families around the grounds so above all you’ll be understanding and be able to show sensitivity when dealing with bereaved families.

Main Responsibility
- Provide admin support to the team.
- Work to existing policies and guidance.
- Maintain confidential records.
- Process sales orders, payments and invoices using the city council’s finance system.
- Maintain stocks of vending machine supplies.
- Daily maintenance of vending machine.

- Flexible to change roles when covering colleague absences.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
