Assistant Engineer Structures

Job Introduction

Bridges and highway structures are critical to our city’s highway and utilities networks, and to the safe and efficient movement of the public on our roads, footways and redways.

Our Highways Team currently maintains over 1,150 assets with more to come as our city continues to expand and grow.

There are numerous construction forms, from timber and masonry structures to complex post-tensioned, half-jointed concrete multi-span structures, alongside unique listed and unlisted assets such as the porte cocheres in Central Milton Keynes.

Our in-house team delivers our inspection programmes and a variety of bridge maintenance projects and schemes including bridge refurbishment and strengthening.

As Assistant Engineer, you’ll undertake visual condition inspections of bridges and highway structures, reporting findings, remedial works recommendations, priorities, and cost estimates within our asset management system.

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team who are always ready to help. We're hardworking, collaborative and always thinking of ways to innovate and improve.

If you have a background in bridges and highway structures, then this could be the role for you.

Please note you'll need to complete the personal statement as part of your application. We do not accept CVs only.
