Asset Investment Manager

Job Introduction

The Council’s Housing Asset Management and Investment Team manages 11,000 homes and a further 3,000 shared ownership and leaseholder properties. We are developing our team and are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated Asset Investment Manager to drive our plans to improve the condition of our residents’ homes.   

The role will involve delivering large scale capital investment projects such as replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs, and doors, from inception to completion of works and ongoing monitoring of the quality of works delivered. You’ll work in partnership with a range of stakeholders and colleagues, alongside our partnering contractors to increase decency levels of our housing stock. We are a friendly and supportive team committed to improving the well-being of our residents.

Main Responsibility

  • You will work with key stakeholders to identify programmes of works through component lifecycle modelling and delivery of major component replacement works.
  • You will manage major component replacement programmes and budgets to include replacement of bathrooms, kitchens, heating systems, roofs, windows & doors on our properties, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time to desired quality and within budget.
  • Working with colleagues and partners you will engage with the communities living in our homes to ensure projects consider the residents’ needs and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • The role will work with other colleagues across the Council in identifying ways we can deliver on the aspirations of our Council Plan. Promoting a culture of collaborative and consultative working between services, members and external partners to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identifying potential efficiency savings/gains within the service and take action to maintain the ongoing drive towards continuous service improvement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You will be educated to degree level with a built environment qualification or significant experience in this field.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record in delivering large scale improvement projects to domestic dwellings, through good project management skills and technical knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge in housing law and policies at a national level will be necessary.
  • As you will be working with a range of people and organisations, effective communication skills are key to successful projects.
